Pingat Polis Keberanian (Police Medal of Valour) Rules 2004 |

Citation and commencement |
1. These Rules may be cited as the Pingat Polis Keberanian (Police Medal of Valour) Rules 2004 and shall come into operation on 27th April 2004. |
Designation of Medal |
2. The Medal shall be designated and styled the Pingat Polis Keberanian or the Police Medal of Valour. |
Award of Medal |
Medal to be awarded by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs |
4. The Medal may be awarded by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs. |
Recommendation for award |
5. Every recommendation for the award of the Medal shall be submitted with such description and conclusive proof of the act for which the Medal is to be awarded as the circumstances of the case may allow, and such attestation of the act as the Commissioner of Police may consider necessary. |
Description of Medal |
6.—(1) The Medal shall consist of an 8-pointed star shape medal in 925 sterling silver and gilded with gold.

Wearing of Medal |
7.—(1) The Medal shall be worn by the recipient on the left side of the outer garment and shall be suspended by a ribbon.

Miniature Medal |
8. The miniature version of the Medal shall be identical to the full size Medal as described in rules 6 and 7 except that the dimensions specified in those rules (other than the length of the ribbon) shall be reduced by half. |
Design of Medal |
9. The Medal shall be of the design set out in the Schedule. |
Description of Bar |
10.—(1) When any act deserving of the award of the Medal is performed by a person to whom the Medal has already been awarded, the act may be recognised by the award of a silver Bar which shall be attached to the ribbon by which the Medal is suspended.

Publication of award |
11. The names of the persons to whom the Medal or a Bar thereto is awarded shall be published in the Gazette. |
Forfeiture of Medal |
12.—(1) If a person to whom the Medal has been awarded under these Rules is convicted of a criminal offence or is dismissed or discharged from the Singapore Police Force for disciplinary reasons, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, may order the forfeiture of the Medal.

Revocation |
13.—(1) The Pingat Polis Keberanian (The Police Medal for Valour) Rules 1988 (G.N. No. S 80/88) are revoked.
