Singapore Cultural Medallion Rules 1981
The President hereby makes the following Rules:—
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Cultural Medallion Rules, 1981, and shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1980.
2.  The Medallion shall be designated and styled the Singapore Cultural Medallion.
3.  The Medallion may be awarded to any person in recognition of his talent and creativity, and for commendable achievement in the field of the arts.
4.  The Medallion shall be awarded by the Minister for Culture.
5.  The name of every person to whom the Medallion is awarded shall be published in the Gazette and a register of every such name shall be kept in the Ministry of Culture.
6.—(1)  If a person to whom a Medallion is awarded under these Rules is convicted of a criminal offence, he shall forfeit the Medallion unless the Minister for Culture shall otherwise direct.
(2)  The revocation of the award shall be published in the Gazette.
7.  The Medallion shall be of silver, circular in shape, 37 millimetres in diameter and 3 millimetres in thickness. On the obverse side of the Medallion there shall be the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Singapore encircled by a wreath of laurels with the inscription “SINGAPORE” below it. On the reverse side of the Medallion shall be a lion rampant regardant above which shall be the inscription “CULTURAL MEDALLION”.
8.  The Medallion shall not be worn.
9.  The Medallion shall be of the design set out in the Schedule to these Rules.
