(Composition of Offences)
Rules 2020
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Wildlife Act, the Minister for National Development makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Wildlife (Composition of Offences) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 1 June 2020.
Compoundable offences
2.  An offence under section 5A(3), 5B(3), 5C(3), 7(3), 8(3), 9(3) or 10(4) of the Act may be compounded by the Director‑General or an authorised officer in accordance with section 12K of the Act.
Revocation and saving
3.—(1)  The Wild Animals and Birds (Composition of Offences) Order 2005 (G.N. No. S 174/2005) is revoked.
(2)  Despite paragraph (1), the Director-General, or any officer authorised by the Director‑General, may, in accordance with paragraph 2 of the Order revoked under paragraph (1), compound any offence committed before 1 June 2020 under a repealed provision.
(3)  In this rule, “repealed provision” means section 5(1), 8, 9 or 10(3) of the Act as in force immediately before 1 June 2020.
